Geotechnics
Understanding the environment is a fundamental component when developing a project, whether in an urban or a rural area. At INEXIA,
some fifteen engineers and draughtsmen specialising in geotechnics guarantee the success of relevant studies for each project.
These geotechnics studies are generally accompanied by inspection in the field; in particular, they seek to:
- Learn the characteristics of the ground and define the building provisions and dimensions of the foundations to be implemented according to the infrastructure to be produced. To do so, INEXIA defines the survey campaign and the types of test to be carried out upstream,
- Optimise the project by looking at the nature and possible reuse of the materials extracted from the site. This involves balancing the excavated earth/backfill to optimise earthworks and reduce the cost of adding any materials and respect sustainable development objectives.
- Analyze the structures' stability (soil mechanics), define slopes and embankments and recommend any comfort measures (masks, rocks, shotcrete, etc.). They must be used respecting usage quality and passenger safety. Their lifetime is calculated for 100 years. This also involves taking account of all natural or human risks: seismic, hydraulic, meteorological, etc...
- Study tunnel design through recognised geological layers, adapting earthworks and drilling techniques.
Our teams are also able to monitor the work progress on sites.
"East HSL 2nd phase, Tours-Bordeaux HSL, Kenitra-Tangiers HSL : depending on the projects, we act as project owner assistant, project manager, technical expert or partner. The wide range of contacts and the variety of missions and projects leads us to carry out technological watch at all times and seek for continuous improvement processes. Our teams use these exchanges and feedback for their command of geotechnics." Christian Quint, Geotechnics and Earthworks Cell manager.
