Operations engineering

INEXIA's "Railway Operations" department, managed by senior experts, specialises in understanding the operation of railway lines, stations and all guided transport infrastructure.

The department is made up of railway workers who are experienced in managing traffic and designing transport plans, associated with young engineers who provide innovation and creativity. This exchange between theoretical calculations and daily operational feedback enables us to guarantee the optimisation and realism of the solutions proposed.

These studies, which are carried out at the request of rail network managers, local authorities and transport organising authorities provide decision-makers the information they need for their investment strategies for new or existing infrastructures, for rolling stock or in terms of transport plan organisation. The experts in this domain implement their experience in a wide range of subjects, such as:

  • Service frequency,
  • Infrastructure « desaturation »,
  • The operation of complex rail sites (garages, workshops, ports),
  • Station sizing,
  • Interactions between infrastructure  changes and services.

"In 2010, we were involved with the Paris-Lyon / Paris Austerlitz capacity director scheme and the frequency for the Centre region at the request of the Region Council. We also carried out several performance studies for the future Transilien operating system, at the request of the SNCF and RFF." Pierre-Marie Verchere, Railway Operations Department manager.
